Long Beach, CA.: International City Racing is proud to announce that EVA Airways will be the Official International Carrier for the 2007 Long Beach International City Bank Marathon. Winning male and female runners in the full marathon will each receive one round-trip, Premium Laurel business-class ticket on EVA Air, and the airline will actively participate in Marathon events and activities.

We will do our best to help EVA communicate the outstanding service and convenient flight schedules available to Asia and beyond. We are especially excited that EVA will be awarding the male and female winner of the Full Marathon a Premium Laurel business-class ticket to one of five destinations in Asia including Taipei, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore," said Bob Seagren, CEO of International City Racing.
This is the first time the airline has sponsored an endurance, health or fitness event in Southern California.
Around 18,000 runners, walkers and cyclists are expected to compete in the 23rd Annual Long Beach International City Bank Marathon on Sunday, October 14, 2007. This year's event includes a Full-Marathon, Half-Marathon, recreational Marathon Bike Tour, 5K Run / Walk and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run. All participants receive an event t-shirt and race goodie-bag. Finishers in the Marathon, Half Marathon, and Bike Tour will receive a commemorative finisher's medal. In a continuing tradition, wheelchair and handcycle participants can compete in the full marathon.
The event will empower its Official Charities to raise around $1 million for their causes. And 100 percent of the earnings raised go directly to the charities. This year, the Lance Armstrong Foundation is the named benefactor for the Marathon Bike Tour. Those who raise $500 for LAF in the fight against cancer can enjoy a VIP experience that includes a special 'Yellow Cycling Jersey' and VIP Start at the front of the tour with professional cyclist Tony Cruz.
Over 30,000 will attend the two-day Health & Fitness Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center, Hall C on October 12 and October 13. With more than 100 exhibitors, attendees can see all the latest in the running, health and fitness industries
On race day, 30,000 race enthusiasts will attend the Michelob Ultra Finish Line Festival on the Marina Green on Shoreline Drive.
